Bioeconomy and integrated biodiversity management

On September 2024, the Colombian embassy in Berlin, Germany, organised an informative and entertaining event event with a panel on the topic of ‘Bioeconomy and integrated biodiversity management’ as part of Amazon Week, together with the SINCHI Institute (Amazonian Institute of Scientific Research, Bogotá) and the Botanical Garden Berlin. This event took place on Thursday 19 September at 18:00 in the Kubus Victoriahaus of the Botanical Garden in Berlin. This event aimed to provide different visions on how a broad-based bioeconomy with innovations and technology transfer can strengthen independent production chains and offer prospects for sustainable development. On the basis of current research results on the diversity of the Colombian Amazon region, possible research strategies were discussed with partners in Germany with regard to the conservation and sustainable use of the Amazonian diversity. conservation and sustainable use of the Amazonian diversity.
MENZYPOL-CIBES was invited to this excellent event and through our researcher Dr. Andrea Clavijo gave a presentation on the MENZYPOL-CIBES initiative entitled ‘MENZYPOL: Transnational Network for Research and Innovation in Microbial Biodiversity, Enzymes Technology and Polymer Science’.
